Are you prepared for the future ?
The European Master in Translation is an innovative academically-based
and professionally-oriented Master programme which is designed
to meet the growing demand for high-level professional translators
by offering advanced training in theoretical and practical subjects
related to professional translation. The programme is being developed
by a team of universities which specialise in the training
of translators and industry partners involved in professional
translation. This network means that students participating in the
programme will have a wide range of opportunities for specialisation
available to them, all of them relevant to the translation industry.
The development of the European Master in Translation has received
funding from the EU's Leonardo da Vinci programme.
What
modules will be offered in 2004-2005 ?
The pilot modules are :
Précis-writing, revision and editing
Text analysis, text types and conventions
Terminology and the basics of LSP translation
Institutional translation for international organisations
Legal translation
Where
can I study ?
The European Master in Translation is offered as a joint degree by
a group of European universities. This means that students will register
for the programme at one of the involved institutions and then develop
their own individual programmes of study, drawing on modules offered
by all partner institutions.
